Instructions to make Jolada Rotti / Jowar Roti Karnataka Special:
- First, keep the water to boil. Add salt. Let it reach boiling point
- Then slowly add the jowar flour, keep stirring with a long spoon. Then when water absorbs the flour, switch off flame.
- Now take the pan off the stove, mix well and cover the pan for 10 minutes.
- Then knead the dough well for 5 minutes, using rice flour if needed.
- Then heat a skillet, roll out ball sized portions of the dough gently, using rice flour. Then lift carefully and place on tawa. Dust off any excess flour with a wet cloth.
- On medium flame, roast on both sides till brown spots appear. Take in a plate and keep covered in a cloth till serving. Repeat the process for rest of the dough.
- Serve the hot Jolada Rotti with green vegetables curry(soppu saagu), a salad of onions, methi leaves and lemon wedges. Serve pickel and a mixture of jaggery and ghee as a sweet dish ! Enjoy!
